Tribute to Rt. Hon’ble Girija Prasad Koirala:
The veteran leader of Nepali politics and five times former Prime Minister of Nepal Rt. Hon’ble Girija Prasad Koirala has passed away on 20th March 2010 in Kathmandu Nepal. Mr. Koirala was born in 20th Feb 1925. Koirala was active in politics for over sixty years, was a pioneer of Nepalese labor movement, having started a labor movement in the jute mills of his hometown Biratnagar.
He has been well known for his principle, pragmatism, prudence and sagacity. He was a leader with glorious and illustrious democratic credentials who had been championing for the establishment and consolidation of democratic dispensation in the country throughout his political stint spanning over seven decades. Mr Koirala was the architect of the peace process that Nepal has been undertaking since 2006.
A condolence book has opened at Consulate of Nepal NSW Office (Level 1, No. 28, 155 Miller Street, north Sydney) from Sunday and will be opened until Tuesday March 23, 2010 from 10:00 – 12:00 hrs and from 13:00- 16:00 hrs.
