All foreign nationals, except Indian citizens, are required to have a valid visa to enter Nepal. Visa can be obtained as “Visa on Arrival” or by visiting the Nepalese Consulate office to avoid hassle after long flight. Consulate General of Nepal in New South Wales, located at 9 Napier Street, North Sydney can help you get visa for your next visit to Nepal. The online application form must be filled prior to the issuance of visa. Once the online application is submitted, you can visit in person or send all required documents by mail.

 

Honorary Consulate General of Nepal to Sydney is authorised to issue Tourist Visas in following categories:

Effective from 17 July 2019, below visa fee will be applied.

Please note that Honorary Consulate General office is no longer issuing Free Visa for NRNA card holder. The free visa for NRNA card holder is available for visa on arrival purposes only. However, if you would like to issue visa beforehand from Consulate office, then below mentioned visa fee will apply.

 

Applying for Tourist Visa Application

In order to issue visa from Consulate office, you can either mail your documents or visit our office.

Requirements:

You must have valid passport with  minimum 6 month of validity from the entry date in Nepal.

  • If you do not visit country within the validity of visa that is within 6 months, visa will be cancelled.

  • Visa fee is non-refundable. Visa once issued cannot be withdrawn and visa fee cannot be refunded. It must be used within six months from the date of issue.

  • Under age of 18 application must be sign by parents/guardians

  • Stantard passport size photo must be attached with visa application.

Note: Children under the age of 10 and the individuals shall be exempted from visa fees upto 30 days.  Likewise passport holder of  member states of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) will not be charged for the visa valid up to 30 days and no visa fee shall be applicable to the Chinese passport holder upto 150 days.

Please mail following documentation to: Consulate General of Nepal, NSW:

  1. Confirmation slip of online visa application.

  2. Valid Original Passport (at least for six months from the day of entry in Nepal).

  3. A prepaid return envelope with full mailing address, tracking number and sufficient postage to return passports. (if you  are sending documents by couriers/post).

  4. A money order (manual) payable to the Consulate General of Nepal, NSW. (Two or more applicant can send single money order for multiple person visa fee. Personal checks, cash and credit cards are NOT acceptable).

Note: Consulate General would not be responsible for the loss or damage of document send via mail/post. Applicants are required to send prepaid return envelope with tracking number to return back passports with visa. Consulate is not responsible for any undelivered passport/s because of the insufficient postage, a weak envelope to bear up the load and other incidents occurred during handling of the documents by couriers/post.

ViSiting Office

You can always visit our office and have it done in person. Please bring all the following required documents while visiting our office for visa:

  1. Confirmation slip of online visa application.

  2. Valid Original Passport (at least for six months from the day of entry in Nepal).

  3. Visa fee as applicable is payable by Eftpos system.

 

Please book an appointment prior to visiting our office via phone call, email or book online. Please be advised that the requested date and time may not always be available, therefore, in that case, we will provide you with any other date and time as a suggestion for you to confirm. 

Honorary Consulate general office is open on weekdays from Monday – Thursday except public holidays, from 9.00AM to 3.00 PM, however, the visa processing service is limited from 9.30 AM till 2.30 PM.

Note: Lunch break time: 12:30-1:00.

Additional Information

  • A tourist visa can be extended up to 120 days from the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu and Pokhara Immigration Office on request. Thereafter an additional 30 days can be extended from Department of Immigration ensuring that tourist visa cannot be extended more than 150 days.

  • Embassy issues Tourist, Diplomatic and Official Visa only while Honorary Consulate offices issue Tourist visa. People going for other purposes can obtain a tourist visa from the Embassy or Consulate and apply for an appropriate category at the Department of Immigration, Nepal with required eligibility & documents or submit visa application online and get approval before traveling to Nepal.
